Hypotension is low BP (i.e. force of blood pushing against walls of the arteries as the heart pumps out blood), especially in the arteries of the systemic circulation. It is a physiological state (cf a disease).
Sx
Dizziness
Fainting
Dx
Systolic BP<90mmHg, or diastolic <60mmHg
In practice, BP is considered too low only if noticeable Sx are present
Children compensate well when there is inadequate circulation, so low BP is a late Sx
Patient information
So blood pressure is usually 120/80, but when do we say it's too low?
If it's below 90/60. Note that we let it drop more than it rises. Because we say that high blood pressure is >140/90. So we let it drop more than it rises.
