Arachnodactyly (aka spider fingers, achromachia) is where the fingers and toes are abnormally long and slender, in comparison to the palm of the hand and arch of the feet.
Sx
Patient's thumbs tend to also be pulled inward towards the palm
Pathophysiology
It can be idiopathic, but is usually associated with certain medical conditions, including Marfan syndrome
It has thus been linked to the fibrillin gene

It can be present at birth, or develop in later life
